Refund and Cancellation Policy
1. Scope
This policy applies to bookings made through Ocean Sailing Adventures for passage events and ASA training events, including bookings created by a partner or instructor referrer on behalf of a student or member.
2. Reservation Holds and Unpaid Bookings
A booking may be reserved before payment is completed. If payment is not received by the hold deadline shown in booking communications, the reservation may be cancelled automatically and the seat may be released to other customers. For unpaid reservations that expire, no refund is due because no payment was collected.
3. Customer-Initiated Cancellation Requests
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing using the support contact details in your booking confirmation. Cancellation timing is measured from the scheduled event start date.
- Requests made 21 or more days before event start are generally eligible for either a transfer to a future event or a refund, less non-recoverable processing costs.
- Requests made fewer than 21 days before event start are generally non-refundable, but transfer or credit options may be offered at our discretion if capacity and scheduling allow.
- No-show attendance and same-day cancellations are non-refundable.
4. Partner or Instructor-Assisted Bookings
When a partner or instructor referrer reserves and sends a payment link to a customer, the customer remains responsible for completing payment before the hold deadline and for complying with this policy after payment is made.
5. Weather, Safety, and Operational Changes
Safety is the highest priority. If an event must be modified, delayed, or cancelled due to weather, vessel availability, instructor availability, safety conditions, or other operational constraints, we will provide a reschedule option, account credit, or refund as appropriate to the circumstance.
6. Transfer and Substitution Requests
Transfers to another date, program, or participant are not guaranteed and require advance approval. Approved transfers may include fare differences, administrative adjustments, or additional restrictions based on event capacity.
7. Refund Processing Timeline
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing and posting times vary by payment provider and card issuer and commonly take 5 to 10 business days after approval.
8. Priority of Specific Terms
If an event listing, proposal, invoice, or written agreement includes cancellation or refund terms that differ from this page, the more specific written terms for that booking control.
